One Brand. Two Pillars, Built From Real Site Experience.

One Brand. Two Pillars.
Built From Real Site Experience.

Kennedy Civil & Rail is a civil construction and rail training business built by people who have worked on-site and understand what the job actually demands.

We operate as one brand with two clear pillars:

Our work is grounded in real site experience. Not theory. Not shortcuts. Training that reflects how work is actually done.

Built on Site. Backed by Experience.

Kennedy Civil & Rail was established by civil and rail professionals who have spent years working on the ground across construction, tunnelling, logistics, and rail environments.

We understand the realities of site life: long days, pressure to perform, safety obligations, and the importance of doing things properly the first time. That understanding shapes how we train, assess, and support the people we work with.

Our trainers are not career classroom operators. They are industry professionals who bring practical knowledge, clear communication, and realistic expectations into every course.

Supporting People in Civil Construction

On the civil side of the business, our focus is on people.

We work with individuals entering construction, returning after time away, or looking to step up through additional skills, tickets, and responsibility. While our training is open to everyone, we place a strong emphasis on supporting women to build confidence and credibility in a male-dominated industry.

This is not just entry-level training. We also support experienced workers who want to upskill, expand their plant capabilities, and increase their earning potential.

Beyond training, we provide guidance and mentoring. We prepare people for site expectations and professional standards from day one.

Professional Rail Training Delivery

Our rail training pillar is designed for contractors, clients, and workers who require professional, compliant delivery.

Kennedy Civil & Rail delivers TMO training in partnership with a Registered Training Organisation**. Our delivery is structured, audit-ready, and aligned with rail authority and Tier 1 contractor expectations.

We focus on consistency, clear assessment, and practical application, ensuring training meets compliance requirements while remaining relevant to live rail environments.

About the Founder

Kennedy Civil & Rail was founded by Niamh, a civil and rail professional, mum, and expat who built her career from the ground up.

After moving from Ireland to Australia in 2017, Niamh entered the construction industry without shortcuts or guarantees. She worked across entry-level roles, quarry operations, civil construction, tunnelling, plant operation, and logistics, progressing through hands-on experience, persistence, and continual upskilling.

Her career includes work on major infrastructure projects, Tier 1 rail environments, and logistics coordination roles. Along the way, she gained multiple plant tickets, an HR licence, Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety, Cert IV in Training and Assessing and a Diploma in Logistics, to name a few.

Becoming a parent changed how she worked, but not her standards. That experience shaped the way Kennedy Civil & Rail operates today: practical, honest, and grounded in the realities of site life.

The business was created to support others navigating similar challenges, particularly women and newcomers who want to work in construction but don’t know where to start. Not by sugar-coating the industry, but by providing the right training, clear guidance, and confidence to walk onto site prepared.

This is training backed by lived experience, not theory alone.
